The Ohio Center for Investigative Journalism, aka Eye on Ohio, is an independent, non-profit news organization based in northeast Ohio. Our mission includes educating the next generation of journalists. We offer one-semester internship opportunities for students at colleges and universities in Ohio.
Eye on Ohio will work with our affiliated schools to offer class credit or independent study credit depending on the particular needs of the student and the organization. Work will be done under the supervision of Eye on Ohio and with the cooperation of journalism professors.
Interns will receive training and experience in interviewing, researching and writing. They will work with OCIJ staff to produce high-impact investigative journalism.
In-depth and computer-assisted reporting skills are preferred. Web, audio and video skills are desirable.
Stories will be distributed on the Eye on Ohio website, other media outlets, and through social media.
Applicants should submit the following in electronic form to firstname.lastname@example.org:
- One-page cover letter describing why you want to work for Eye on Ohio.
- Resume including work and journalistic experience, GPA and references.
